Mrs. Shirley Price Addington

Mrs. Shirley Price Addington, age 80, of Martin, GA, passed away Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at her home.

Born September 25, 1937 in Franklin County, GA, she was a daughter of the late Chester and Daisy Hammond Price,

She was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church and was retired from Coats and Clark. Shirley loved to travel and she loved country music. Her Uncle Joel Price was a member of the Grand Ole Opry. She was very active at the Senior Center and she enjoyed cooking and keeping the Price Reunion an annual event. Shirley was co-owner of Buck's Superette for 42 years.

Family members include her husband of 57 years, Hoke T. "Buck" Addington; brother and sister-in-law, Bernard and Brenda Price; brothers-in-law, Carl Smith and Charles W. Addington and his wife Catherine; sister-in-law, Hazel Addington Owens; a very special friend, Chris Stephens; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Stewart Price; and two sisters, Betty Jo Price and Marlene Price Smith.

Funeral services will be held at eleven o'clock Saturday, November 4, 2017 from the Chapel of Whitlock Mortuary with the Rev. Jerrell Beatty officiating.

Burial will follow at Stephens Memorial Gardens.

The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers; Ken Owens, Roy Broome, Dustin Broome, Don Tabor, Brandon Price, and Tim Addington.

The family will receive friends at the mortuary from 6pm – 8pm Friday, November 3, 2017.

Flowers are optional. Those desiring may make memorial donations to Amedisys Hospice, 53 Rock Drive Toccoa, GA 30577, Ebenezer Baptist Church, 49 Rose Lane, Toccoa, GA 30577 or to the Stephens County/Mable Thomas Scott Senior Center, 55 Hayley Drive, Toccoa, GA 30577.
