Mr. Millard Fillmore (Phil) Tucker, Jr, age 63, of Toccoa; passed away Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at his home.

Born October 31, 1954 in Stephens County, he was a son of the late Millard Fillmore Tucker, Sr. and Ruth Sosebee Tucker.

Mr. Tucker was an insurance agent with Horace Mann and American National Companies for many years. He attained the LUTC designation and was the youngest agent to be inducted into the Horace Mann Hall of Fame. Phil was a special deputy under both Sheriff Don Shirley and Sheriff Randy Shirley and was a former employee of Whitlock Mortuary. He was a member of the Toccoa Presbyterian Church.

Family members include his wife of 39 years, Lane Hellenga Tucker of the home; son and daughter-in-law, Millard F. (Clint) Tucker III and Erin of Jasper, GA; grandson, Elijah Dale Tucker of Jasper, GA;; uncle and aunt, Sam and Andrea Sosebee; cousins and spouses, Buster and Vickie Smith and Susan and Bill Turner, Bud Sosebee, and Claire Sosebee; nephew, Stephen M. Tucker, Jr.; mother-in-law, Myra Hellenga; brothers-in-law and spouses, Glenn and Nancy Hellenga, Kim and Linda Hellenga, Evan and Artie Hellenga, and Brett and Kim Hellenga; and a sister-in-law, Leslie Davis.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Stephen M. Tucker, Sr.

Memorial services will be held at five o'clock Saturday, December 30, 2017 from the Chapel of Whitlock Mortuary with the Rev. Don Scott and Mr. Buster Smith officiating.

The family will receive friends at the mortuary from 3pm until the service hour on Saturday.

Flowers are accepted. Those desiring may make donations to the Toccoa Presbyterian Church.
