Mrs. Latrelle Sanders Elrod

Mrs. Latrelle Sanders Elrod age 95, of Toccoa, GA passed away Thursday, November 9, 2017.

Born February 20, 1922 in Stephens County, she was a daughter of the late Walter S. and Mildred Whitlock Sanders. She was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church and was retired from Coats and Clark with 27 years of service. She also worked at Holcomb's Office Supply for many years. Latrelle was the Valedictorian of her high school graduating class and she was the true "Southern Hostess". She enjoyed reading, cooking for others and her family. She was loved by her family and all those who knew her.

Family members include her sons and daughters-in-law, Mike Elrod and Evelyn of Royston, GA and Greg Elrod and Cheryl of Toccoa; grandchildren, Matt Elrod and Michelle, Nick Elrod and Raegen, Chris Elrod and Rachel, and Tyler Elrod and Katie; great-grandchildren, Seth Elrod, Mason Elrod, Madison Elrod, Roxie Elrod, Lula Elrod, Logan Elrod, Leah Elrod, Aisleigh Elrod, Jackson Elrod; step-great-grandchildren, Maribeth Gipson and Will Gipson; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Mitchell Elrod; brothers, Clarence Sanders, Terrell Sanders, and Grady Sanders; and her sister, Jonnie Smith.

Funeral services will be held at three o'clock Sunday, November 12, 2017 from the Chapel of Whitlock Mortuary with the Rev. Andy Childs and the Rev. Jerry Stowe officiating.

Burial will follow at Stephens Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Jerrell Beatty officiating at the graveside service.

The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers; George Sanders, Clint Sanders, Brett Sanders, Blake Sanders, Levi Rice, and Daniel Rice.

The family will receive friends at the mortuary from 4pm – 6pm Saturday, November 11, 2017.

Flowers are optional. Those desiring may make memorial donations to ST Jude Children's Research Hospital, P. O. Box 1000 Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38101.
