Mr. L. T. Owen, Jr. age 81, of Toccoa, passed away Sunday, February 4, 2018 at Stephens County Hospital.

He was born August 27, 1936 in Lavonia, GA and was preceded in death by his parents
L. T. Owen, Sr. and Ruby Lee Harris Owen.

Survivors include his wife of sixty-one years, Willie Mae Sheriff Owen; daughter, Debra Craig of Amelia Island, FL; son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Hope Owen of Easley, SC; grandchildren, Amanda Craig Roycik (Dru) and Ashley Owen; sister and brother-in-law, Margaret and Eric Elrod; brother, Roger Owen; and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Owen was an accountant and spent the majority of his career at Wright/Oxford Industry. He was a charter member of the Wright Manufacturing Employees Credit Union, which was organized in 1963. Mr. Owen served thirty-two years on the Board of Directors and served as Chairman from 1993 to 2016. In 2004, Mr. Owen was awarded the Georgia Credit Union Moses C. Davis Award as Volunteer of the Georgia Northeast District.

He was a United States Air Force Veteran serving during the Korean Conflict.

Funeral services will be held at eleven o'clock Friday, February 9, 2018 at Ebenezer Baptist Church with the Rev. Andy Childs and the Rev. Jerry Stowe officiating.

Burial will follow at Stephens Memorial Gardens with Military Honors provided by the
V. F. W. Post 3436.

The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers; Dennis Bell, David Bell, Bryan Fowler, Adrian Sheriff, Rodney Sheriff, and Eddie Elrod.

His Sunday School Class, and both former and present Staff and Board Members of the Wright Credit Union will serve as honorary pallbearers;

The family will receive friends at the mortuary from 5pm – 8pm Thursday, February 8, 2018.
