Sara Joyce Barrett Cooley Kellar, age 80, of Toccoa, passed away Tuesday, August 29, 2017 at Stephens County Hospital.

Born April 15, 1937 in Hull, GA, she was a daughter of the late Robert Bradford and Reba Lee Maxwell Barrett.

She was a very active member of Sunnyside Baptist Church and was retired from Coats & Clark with 47 years of service. Joyce Volunteered at the Stephens County Hospital Gift Shop and also at the Open Arms Clinic. She was an active member of the Stephens County Senior Center.

Family members include her husband, John Terrell Kellar; daughter, Wanda Cooley Byargeon of Jacksonville, FL; sisters, Carolyn (Sterling) Hudson of Milton, NC and Debbie (Susan Jordan) Barrett of Florence, SC; cousin, but more like a sister, Glenda Ernest of Toccoa; special friend Sherry Beavers of Toccoa; and a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her first husband and father of her daughter, Richard Neal Cooley.

Funeral services will be held at five o'clock Thursday, August 31, 2017 from the Chapel of Whitlock Mortuary with Dr. Jesse Colbert and Dr. Roy Rogers officiating.

Entombment will follow at Stephens Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.

The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers; Steve Mosley, Mitty Higginbotham, Terry Ernest, Neil Watson, Jerry Snell and Steve Spruill.

The Stephens County Hospital Auxiliary and the Open Arms Clinic will serve as honorary pallbearers.

The family will receive friends at the mortuary from 5pm – 8pm Wednesday, August 30, 2017 and from 3pm until the service on Thursday, August 31, 2017.

Flowers are optional. Those desiring may make memorial donations to the Open Arms Clinic, 109 Big A Road, Toccoa, GA 30577.
