Mrs. Frankie Kicklighter Hosea, age 84 of Toccoa, GA, passed away Saturday, September 30, 2017 at her home surrounded by her family.

Frankie was born in Wayne County, GA on March 4, 1933 to Marvin and Maggie Mae Driggers Kicklighter.

She was a very active member of the First Baptist Church of Toccoa and her Sunday School Class, Adult 3. She and George went on missions trips for over 33 years with the church. Before becoming members of First Baptist, they were members at Carnes Creek Baptist Church where they led the RA and GA programs for several years. Many of these RA and GA members are thought of as their first children. Frankie started her career right out of high school being recruited by North Georgia Process (now Coats & Clark) to play on their basketball team. She also played this same position for the Letourneau Company. She met her future husband, George Meeks Hosea at this time as he was employed at the gym where her games were played. Before marriage, Frankie was offered a position with both the Atlanta Tomboys and the Arkansas Travelers. She declined both opportunities to stay in Toccoa and marry George. She retired from Coats North America with over 40 years of service in both craft and industrial divisions. After retirement, Frankie and George were avid travelers. In their later years, they traveled with grandson, JT and made it a mission to show him all 50 US states and 2 US territories.

Frankie is survived by her husband of 66 years, George Meeks Hosea; daughters Kristy "Kris" Hosea of Vancouver, WA and Cindy Hosea Osborne of Metter, GA; son-in-law, Rev. Tom Osborne of Metter, GA; and her Pride and Joy, Grandson, JT Osborne; sister, Mary Kicklighter Wray of Fair Oaks, TX; brother, Lyndon Kicklighter and his wife June of Claxton, GA and brother Derrell Kicklighter of Roswell, GA; four honorary grandchildren, Bo and Molly St. Clair, Eli St. Clair, and Krystle Whitlock.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Reba Kicklighter Waters of Glenville, GA and Martha Kicklighter Holcomb of Dawsonville, GA.

Funeral services will be held at eleven o'clock Monday, October 2, 2017 at the Toccoa First Baptist Church with the Rev. David Ritcey, Dr. Henry Fields, and the Rev. Brett Sanders officiating.

Burial will follow at Roselane Cemetery with the Rev. Tom Osborne officiating at the graveside service.

The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers; Arnold Meeks, Johnny Whitworth, Kenneth Ivie, Dean Taylor, Edward Shirley, William Terrell, Max Bennett, and Ernest Shriley.

The Adult 3 Sunday School Class and Dan Fulbright will serve as honorary pallbearers.

The family will receive friends at the mortuary from 4pm – 7pm Sunday, October 1, 2017.
